| | Ordinary troll has 273 HPs?! I'm starting to develop an distinct dikslike towards trolls (yeah, even the funny one in Windspear Ruins ). Reason (except for them being green, ugly and smelling): there seems to be no limits to their regeneration anymore. Counted the damage I did to the first troll I met in the D'Arnise Keep - 273 HPs of damage even before getting it down to the ground. Then he at least had the decency to die immediately. Anomen had the Wyvern's Tail dance on his head while Valygar cut off his fur with Celestial Fury and the Corthala Blade. They both got a couple of critical hits. In the distance stood my elven ranger shooting Fire Arrows up the troll's "you know what". So, anyone has any idea what has happened to them?

| | Are you sure it was a normal troll? Cause in D'Arnise Keep you do fight multiple types of Troll... |

| | Oh yes, it was the first one you meet when taking the hidden entrance. That's a normal troll. The druid grove is another place where the trolls can be almost unkillable for me, especially the troll you meet just before the first party of Shadow Druids. That one is also labeled "Troll" only. I am well aware of the different types of troll.

| | Ive noticed the same thing , though not nessecarily with that troll. Some of the plain trolls do seem to have a huge amount oh hps, i never counted but some die in just a few hits and some take 200+ damage like your saying. It could be a bug , or maybe there is just a huge range of possible hps on trolls.

| | I have noticed one thing with Trolls, where sometimes they will sit on "Near Death" and will not collapse unless you stop attacking (they will not die standing up as well). Should you continue to attack until the time when they'd normally stand up, they regenerate and carry on attacking. |

| Aha! That might very well be it. I'll let them lay down next time and see if that works.

| | Trolls are supposed to enter a specific animation when their HPs get below 12. Mabye that part of their script is somehow disrupted. Party member AI scripts don't run when that person is stunned/dead/otherwise out of the picture. I wouldn't be surprised if something like that could happen to Trolls as well. Perhaps Celestial Fury's stun keeps them from executing their scripts somehow... |

| | To Aegis:
Trolls should regenerate 3 hp every round (according to 2 edition rules). |

| | Well, i'm playing with autopause and deal with trolls (Core difficulty) pretty easy. Just "target is gone" and fire/acid arrow. So, i guess, you're just skipping the right moment.

| | It is apparently a Known Fact over at Bioware that monsters with a "death script" sometimes skip it when taking heavy damage. I had to do over 300 damage to Kangaxx the Lich before he brought up the Evil Rant, for example. |

| | There's probably something to the thought that a certain weapon has something to do with it. I've defeated that quest, and i'm on my first trip through the game. I didnt really have any problems with any of the trolls.
