| | old fart Just for grins, I was checking the profiles of some of the regulars, and almost everyone lists their occupation as "student." Am I the only person over 30 on this forum? If my wife finds out, I'll never get laid again! |

Most of game lovers also adults... how old am i do you think ? Heh FYI i'm chief engineer for some private company. Now it's that enough ?
Remember, game is not for child or non adult....it's for your entertainment ! So everyone who love to play games can play. Same thing goes for cartoon movies....it's just to light up your day.

| | Actually, I'm a college professor, which keeps me pretty busy. So I don't get to play as often as I'd like. Not really a game fan, except the infinity engine games. My brother in law bought me BGI way back when because he knew I used to play PnP D&D. It hooked me, and I've been a junky of the series (including PS:T and IWD) since then. Can anyone recommend any other games in this genre I should try? I gave a crack at Diablo but found it pretty dull. I prefer a richer role-playing environment. Suggestions?

| | Hmmm... I bet you would like the Fallout series as well. Kind of looks like the infinity engine but set in the far post-holocaust future. Stay away from Diablo2. It's just an expensive screensaver. :-( |

Actually I'm a 30 year college faculty member too. http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/wink.gif
As for other games in the genre, I really haven't played any. All of them received such bad reviews, I never slapped down my $$ to play them myself. The only other game I play on a regular basis is Half-Life (Counter Strike). And that probably won't do it for ya.

| | I'm 24 for as well and I must confess that I am a nerd as well. Of the biology/genetics kind though. We don't use computers for anything but playing games on. Atleast I don't. Sigh... Why am I posting this? |

| | Heey ... wow, you guys are really old http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/smile.gif
nope, just kidding. I just always thought that I was one of the oldest in here (I don't know why?). Turns out, some of you guys are more than 10 years ahead of me, not that it's a bad thing or anything. I want to able to keep my head high and play games even when I'm really old (~60?). I don't know if I qualify as a nerd though ... probably. Anyway, keep up the good work http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/tongue.gif

| | My confession: I'm a 42-year-old University Professor. If my wife found out about this secret hobby, my meat would be dead meat. If my colleagues found out, my reputation would be toast.
Actually, getting laid is a bit of a problem even in the game when you are an uncharismatic dwarf, as I am (in the game, that is, not real life).

| | Damn! How many profs are playing BGII?!?! I teach film, broadcasting and digital media and my love of the infinity games has seriously got me thinking about writing a research paper on narrative structure in computer role-playing games.
Actually, I got the whim the other night that an interesting project I might put on the long-term back-burner might be a book with the following title: "Twenty-Sided-Die: A (sub)Cultural History of Dungeons and Dragons" Whaddaya think? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
