| | NPC and quest questions 1) Is it better to get your five favourite NPCs together and keep them together for the entire game or mix and match throughout SoA?
2) If you dismiss Jahiera from the party, can you pick her up again or does she disappear for good(along with her Harper quests)?
3) Are all of the side quests that people ususally do in Chapter 2 still available when you get out of the underdark (Unseeing Eye, Trademeet, Sir Sarles, etc.)? What I want is for a way to beef up Imoen's XP, so she's not three levels behind Nalia or Edwin.

| | 1. I prefer to keep favourite NPCs in the party; but I usually only have 3 or 4, so I can pick up NPCs and then dismiss them when I completed their quests.
2. Yes, I believe she'll be near the Harper Headquarter. This only happen if you let her join when you free her at the start, if you don't then she's gone for good.
3. Yes, all quests from Chapter 2 are available in Chapter 6. |

| So if I start any of the Jahiera/Harper quests (talk to Xzar, go to the Sea's Bounty Tavern, etc.), I'm stuck with Jahiera until Elminster gives her the Harper pin. If I drop her at any other point, she's gone for good, right?

| | Jaheira will give a clear warning if she will go away for good. Something along the lines of "I have nowhere to go.". |

| | I don't like to play "musical NPCs". None of the NPC quests seem to be absolutely necessary to the plot, and since experience is in generous supply, I usually only do the NPC quests for those characters that are in my "permagroup" or for those characters who don't HAVE to join your party for you to do their quest (Haer d'alis and Nalia come to mind). My first runthrough I did switch everyone in and out just so I could see what was up, but now that I know them all, I don't bother. Just a matter of personal preference I think. |

| | I have never kept Viconia, Keldorn, Haer'Dalis, Korgan, Anomen, Jan, Cernd or Mazzy in the party for very long. Maybe it's just me and my bias toward mage spells and the need to keep Jahiera and Yoshimo in the party through Spellhold, but I'd like to add some of the other NPCs to go through their quests, which I've never done before.
I've always wanted to swap Jahiera out (because I have a low opinion of druids), but in the past she's always told me that I would never see her again if I dismissed her.
