Why try to balance. With the ring of human influence (18+ charisma), gauntlets of dexterity (18+ dex) and Girdle of Frost Giant Stength (21+ str), you only need to both with Intelligence, Wisdom and Constitution.

The problem there Kieran is that you have to get those items first. And it makes it harder when you have a bucnh of under par stats.

Also, if you use the ring, you've only got one slot left for another ring. If you use the gauntlets, then you can't use other gauntlets, use the belt, and you cant use any other belt.

I would prefer to use the belt of innertial barrier and have gauntlets of weapon expertise.

for me i don't think Intelligence is that important for ranger (look at minsc) isn't it? i meant. dex is always useful at 18, thus the gauntlets can save to other characters. charisma is n't that important as long as ur reputation is high enough. constition at 18 is very useful. strength is very optional for 18 or a bit less, there's isn't a lot of belts to choose anyway, could low down to 17 or 16 for dex or con.

You can put strenght a little lower, coz you get 3 belts that improve strenght, and the only good belt is the Girdle of Internal Barrier...
