Red face MAN!!! How in the world do you kill Sendal the Drow?

I am at the end of Sendal's (SP?) Glade in TOB. She has a bunch of statues of herself that come to life -all of them are really tuff (30th level+?) and have tuns of protected magic. Then, when you get through all of them she herself appears -promptly turns invisibe and loads up on protective magic, them slaughters your already weakened characters. This battle is next to impossible because I don't have 10 Warding Whip / Breach spells to throw at her. She is like a God when she finally appears. My fighter received 149 HP of damage from her wand!! Has anyone killed her?

'Ave a lot o' Breach spells memorized, as well as some Wands o' Spell Strikin'.

'Ave yer 2 best fighters stand at the doorway, where the drow warriors keep coming out, to stop 'em from attackin' yer o'er party members.

The rest o' yer party (yer mage(s) included) should be equipped with missile weapons, an' standin' in the middle o' the room, attackin' whiche'er statue is movin'. Whene'er a statue is protected, cast Breach on it. One o' these 4 lads should be decent in melee, as sometimes a statue'll be comin' down an' attack ye. That one party member can then defend yer weaker ones from the melee attacks.

I had meself (ranger/cleric, dual wieldin' Crom Faeyr an' Flail o' Ages) an' Minsc (dual wieldin' Foebane an' Blackrazor), standin' at the doorway, while Keldorn (Heavy Crossbow o' Accuracy with Case o' Plenty), Sarevok (Firetooth Crossbow), Mazzy (Gesen Bow) an' Imoen (Erinne Sling with Bag o' Plenty) were firin' at them statues. Imoen took care o' the protections when needed.

Methinks 'twas a very cool, arcadish, battle. I'ave really enjoyed it.

Mandeville,

Here's what I did... and still lost Korgan in the process. But since it took me 4 tries, I wasn't about to go through it all again!

I positioned all my char's in the middle of the room. My main char (ranger/cleric), both my mages (Imoen & Jan), and Viconia, were responsible for summoning creatures to block the doorway. I summoned as many undead as I could, as well as some Djinni, Efreet, and also the Monster Summoning III spell. The drow coming through the door had a very hard time getting through that mess to get to me.

Even with that plan, it was a tough fight because I had to not only keep summoning, but also had to be ready to throw a Breach spell from Imoen or Jan when needed. Sarevok & Korgan are my main bashers, and with Boots of Speed, would get to each statue in turn and whomp on it.

It didn't get too messy til I ran out of summoning spells, at which point the Drow were able to break through and make things ugly. Losing Korgan was a blow, but like Isaid, I wasn't going to deal with that again!

I killed Sendai the first time through, but lost every other member of the party, so I reloaded and tried again. The second time worked for me.

I had me (elf ranger) with Taralash +5, Celestial Fury & Spectral Brand +5, Minsc with a Heavy Crossbow of Accuracy, Foebane +5 & Axe of the Unyeilding +5, Sarevok with the Psion's Blade +5 & Firetooth +5, Imoen with a Wand of Spell Striking, Bow of Gesen, & Angurvadal +5, Aerie with Storm Star +5 & the Sling of Everard, and Nalia with the Staff of the Magi, Tansheron's Bow, & a Wand of Spell Striking. Everyone except Aerie also has Boots of Speed.

As soon as you enter the room, Sendai initiates dialogue. The first statue which came active was the one immediately to the left of the characters. One important thing to remember is that not all of Sendai's statues cast spells. I had everyone open up on Sendai with missile weapons while Aerie summoned a Deva and used a Wand of Monster Summoning to place some flunkies in the middle of the room.

Sendai's first incarnation died fairly quickly. Immediately, I had everyone switch to melee weapons and begin wailing on the two drow who appeared on the steps. They didn't have a chance--a recurring theme.

Meanwhile, the next Sendai statue to come to life was across the room, out of my fog of war. That statue was one of the spellcasting varieties and she immediately cast Death Spell, which killed all of my flunkies (I think they were ogres), but the Deva was immune to the spell. I had the Deva cast Globe of Blades and she attacked Sendai. I had everyone switch back to their missile weapons and we got the second Sendai.

I made sure to keep everyone on the steps and switched back to melee weapons as soon as the drow warriors appeared. If Sendai inhabits a spell casting statue, keep to the steps and make sure she is not in your fog of war. After Sendai killed the Deva, I used gas spells to get her if she was in a spellcasting mood. If she was in one of the archer statues, I had Sarevok and Minsc switch to their melee weapons and beat the hell out of her.

After all of her statues are killed, she is one mean lady. I had my ranger, Minsc and Sarevok chase her around while using Imoen, Aerie and Nalia to take care of her undead minions, summon decoys with Wands of Monster Summoning, and take her defenses down with Wands of Spell Striking. If you're high enough level, Comet and Dragon's Breath will take out her flunkies while not damaging/stunning party members.

Eventually, Sendai will run out of spells and her rings will run out of charges and you will kill her, but be sure to have plenty of Extra Healing and Superior Healing Potions available. Also, make sure that if she begins casting spells that you have someone between her and you to absorb the effects of the spell. The first time through, she got both Minsc and Sarevok with Symbol: Stun and they bought it quickly. Get devas, planetars, gnolls or ogres to take the brunt of the punishment while keeping your party intact and the battle is not easy, but survivable.
