I can excuse Jaheira for that, because it isn't really her fault that it happens so quickly. It's due to game mechanics and the limitations in the script. In truth, she's very tentative, she's very conflicted about her feelings, and she doesn't really make a move until she's sure it's okay ("if you won't hesitate, then neither will I"). And by that time, I'm kind of bored by the whole thing, anyway. It never really gets any better than that; she's always noncomittal. So it's not like she's LEAPING into another bed after her husband dies.
As for Keldorn and his wife, Maria wants a divorce. She has sought the companionship of another man (one who doesn't spend all of his nights sleeping in a men's dormitory), but as I understand it, she hasn't slept with the other man, so she hasn't really cheated on him. As a player, you have several options: tell him to kill his wife's new "lover"; tell him to turn them over to the courts; or tell him to go back to her and make up. Why not a fourth option: let him get divorced, and then seduce him. He doesn't have to cheat on his wife.
And besides, he's attractive. (He looks a little like Sean Connery.)
