| | Is the equalizer worth it? I got the equaliser made last night, feeling pleased with myself I saved the game and sadly had to get some sleep, well I had spent the whole evening fighting Orbs, Flayers etc to get the needed parts, my team amd myself were shattered.
As soon as I got to the office I did a search under equalizer and LO! comments saying it was not worth it! I lack experience with this game so what do you all think, is it worth using or not? |

| | It's a great weapon, but it's not the end-all, be-all of weapons, let alone swords in BG2. So, don't expect to simply 'walk all over' everything, just because you have it now.
The Silver Sword and Blackrazor are great swords as well... |

| | Cobra, it really isn't a bad weapon. It's just not in my, and many other, opinions that it was worth all that trouble. We were expecting something with Black Razor's equivelant for how hard you had to work just to get it.
But essentially, it has its benefits as well and is a good long sword. A nice sword, but worth the effort? Perhaps, perhaps not. |

| | Ahhrrrrrrg get it get it away get it away! It sucks major a$$!
really it is an ok sword but it is a BIG dissapointment you start of with the gem in Jon's doungon (chap.1) and first in chap.6 can you forge it. I could mention a lot of swords that are better than the eq. |

| | I had the sensation it was a lot of pain for such a weapon. I guess the game should give you more however. But it's a strong weapon mainly in case your char is proficient in long swords as mine is. I got to keep a sort of arsenal in the backpack for each case, mainly for main char (Barbarian), Minsc and Anomen, my front line people. |

| | useless peice of crap, really. If you've got someone with proficiencies in longsword, there are at least 3 that are better (depending on who you're fighting), and can be gotten in chaps 2&3. |

| | the equaliser actually comes in handy though, since it gives you mental protection, you can send one character in with it and he can decimate monsters who try to paralise etc.. you (i.e mindflayers) |

| | While I agree that it's not the be-all and end-all of weapons that you'd expect it to be, I still found it a powerful sword. As longswords go, it's second only to Blackrazor. My archer dual-wielded it and the Daystar when close combat was necessary. |

| | of course it's worth it , at least i keep it for my collection in my arsenal. although it might became less effective if you got other weapons, but it's quite cool and i like the design of it's icon | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
