Well I don't know - but I'm still betting on somebody that was in both BG games.
"you may have seen him in past BG games."

Could we be looking at Neeber/Noober or maybe Biff http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

As for the screenshot of possible Elminister (looks like him anyway) it could just be that he is around a part of the game - and you help him fight monsters like Drizzt in BG1.

drakron, its R.A. Salvatore isn't it, not S.A.?
wasn't Cadderly in BG I? I'd be really interested in what characters were there.

YES, he was (easy to miss, he talk to us in the second time there, just before going inside the keep), but if he will be the ToB NPC, I dont know.

Relooking af the picture with the new NPC-portrait (maybe the new portrait) it does not look like a drow (fair skin), but looks like it could be for the "wild mage"-class.

But Solaufein could be cool as a NPC, he seemed a good fighter http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/smile.gif

yah, if you've read the salvatore books talking about before Drizzt left the underdark, soloufein sounds a lot like Drizzt's dad-a really neutral type of drow, not completely good but not in love with evil either. I think it would be extremely interesting to have him as an NPC.
It would also be extremely cool to have Drow as a racial option for our PCs.

Since that are many that dont know about many of AD&D spells...
Cloning is a spell but as you have seen it dificult to work (very dificult), Kalid is dead (Irenicus did not kill him, acording to Imoen he was already dead) and beyond resurection (Irenicus made sure of that).
Besides all who were sucesseful in romancing Jaheira would not like that.

Reading the gamespot preview: http://www.zdnet.com/gamespot/storie...692770,00.html

I noticed one thing wich they said:
"introduce at least one new nonplayer character that can join your party--he or she will presumably be a wild mage"

This fits with the NPC-portrait in the screenshot. But still if this is the case - why so secretive about the NPC if it isen't somebody "big".

I gotta say, that I can't wait much longer http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Can't be Solaufein. Doesn't look like a drow. Drow have a black skin. This dude doesn't.
Saemon would be kewl. Then I can finally pay him back.

Question

Interesting... havent seen any of this before.

Thats definately Elminster in one of the screen shots but as for that portrait...isnt that Montaron below the new one ? New ones certainly no Drow but its not how I imagined Saemon looking... he looks too old.

Any more info surfaced on this yet??

Actually, I'm wondering what the top picture is. Never seen it.

And I bet the 2nd portrait is the wild-mage. Although it looks really cool for some undead type creature.

Of course, Bioware may not have to play by all the rules, but the portraits look like an evil party w/ Montaron and Viconia - so maybe that's not the mystery new pc.

As for my vote, I'd go with elminster. It ought to be someone of sufficient power. Heck, maybe they made Boo into a real life character.

Are you implying that Boo isn't a real life character? I can assure you, he's far more real than you or I. Such blasphemous words will not be further tolerated. http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I think it is either Saemon Havarian or Solufein. You might think that Saemon betrayed you, but then he betrayed you before, so it might be him!

Or maybe it is Alaundo himself!!! (forgive me if he's dead)
