Irenicus in hell final battle bug

hi, im having a bug with the final battle with irenicus. i give the door all 5 tears of bhaal and the door opens and irenicus comes out and says its our final battle. after the conversation with him ends and after my party says what they say, the fight starts. but irenicus just stands there and takes my hits, i cant kill him though, he gets to "near death" but thats it. ive sat there for 10 minutes hitting him while he just stands there and does nothing. i tried using instant kill on him but that doesnt work either. idk what to do. it would kinda suck to play this file for a long time only to have it not be able to beat the game :C. help me out?

well i read the other post and it didnt help. due to the fact that even when he doesnt take any damage after "near death". i tried re-doing the battle but it happens time after time. i tried doing the tears in a different order. choosing good paths. but nothing works. he just stands there no matter what i do. ive re-done the fight over 10 times and same thing:he just stands there. anyone know what to do?

Are you fully patched?

The order of tears shouldn't have any effect on this. If you haven't patched your game, do so. Try standing away from him and not attacking. He is not supposed to die. You just need to wait for the dialog to display.

Also, I suggest you put a spoiler tag in the thread name as there are still people that have never played this game and do not wish to be spoiled.

ok thankyou! it worked. i dled a patch and i beat the game last night. thanks crenshibinon. (good book btw. Crystal shard. i read and have all his books signed XD) my favorite author.
