How To Save Glaicas...

For those of you who are wondering if Lord de'Arnises bodyguard Glaicas can be saved (the one that always attacks you on the second level of the Keep) here's how you do it. Use the Charm Person spell from the Ring of Human Influence (it's very powerful) to turn him to your side. Then have your character with the most powerful Dispel Magic spell (for me it was Jaheira) cast on him; this may take a couple of tries to work depending on the caster's level. The Charm spell will have stopped the Domination spell, and then you can Dispel to bring him back to normal (blue). Now just talk to him. He'll proceed to tell you what happened and give you the Flail Head and 22500 experience. Quite a bit better than what you get for killing him.

it works the same if you don't dispel him.

Alaric - I found I couldn't talk to him until I cast Dispel on him. That was the only way to get his circle back to blue. For some reason he won't respond if he's green (even though he's now 'friendly').

ElvenKing: you just have to wait for the spell effect (charm) to end and he will turn neutral. You can read it on GameBanshee pages too, if I'm not wrong.

Is there a probability on whether he will turn neutral or not? Because I've tried this many times, but most of the times he just turn back to hostile, when the charm worn out, and continue killing my character. Any idea why this happens? And how to get around it?

I tried it with the ring and it always (I think 3 times on 3) worked if he doesn't pass the saving throw. I've also tried with normal charm spells and they never worked.

Well it don't work for me aeries don't work but jahirreas does and he turns nasty!

My experience with this was that it was hit or miss using a charm person spell of charm special ability. I had to try it several times before it worked. Normally I don't like doing stuff like that....reloading saves over and over just to get a certain result. But, I wanted to see if it would really work and it does.
