How do bards set traps?

If you have ToB, Bards can get the ability set spike, time, explosion traps. I might be wrong, but I thought they worked just like a normal thiefs traps. Meaing the success of setting the trap is dependant on the set trap score of a thief. If a bard does not have the set traps ability score like a thief, how can a bard ever get the trap to work? Or am I totally wrong and the special ability traps are set at a 100% success rate?

someone (i think it was Sabre) was looking into the code, tob gives bards 100% in set traps (but no regular traps so it's largely irrelevant. all of my thieves have set traps 100 + i've never failed to set a special trap.

Um i guess it could be a bug

If you look at your bards thieving skills in shadow keeper, he automatically has 100 in setting traps. I suppose this is the reasoning, though i'm not for sure whether special ability traps are skill dependent or not.
