Help!!Thief

After a though battle I killed Drizzt and take his frostbrand+3 finally.(I cant use defender because i m playing with an evil party.)
I was so happy with it until a friend of Drizzt "Matchor Harpell" appeared after i killed the Bodhi.He told me to hand over drizzt's scimitar.I said "I take it and I will keep it".Then he said "i will try the hard way" At that time I was ready for the battle.But he just take it and "party has lost an item"He steal it!!And the next best thing is that he steal it from my level 23 thief!!

Do anyone know a way to prevent this from happennig?


Or will I encounter him again and take it back?

There isnt any way to stop melchior. He'll keep coming until he gets the scimitar (in fact, both scimitars, but you only have one of them.) Its a design to stop players from using drizzt's weapons, some strange quirk on Bioware's part... or maybe some form of respect to Salvatore. Also, a level 23 thief isn't supposed to be impossible to steal from. There's no skill called "detecting pickpockets". Unless you meant to be ironic, of course.

But What will happen if I put them in bag of holding?or in a case in bodhi's lair?Is he keep coming?Because I prefer kepping them in somewhere than handing them over
I tried to kill Matchor but he survived and entered the dialogue mod.I even dire charmed him with the mind circlet from underdark.
maybe i should use mass invisibility...

And...I know you can steal from a high level thief but ofcourse it is a schame...

even when the scimaltar is in the Bag of Holding it will be gone same as drow equipment when u leave the underdark will turn to dust even in the BoH.
with the ease-of-use mod how ever there is a option that let you keep Dritzz loot. it simply stops melchior from stealingor coming for the equipment.

but btw what is so special about the frostband the defender is nice but there are a lot of bette swords for a thief then the frostband (..celestial fury...)

Because i'm playing multiplayer now and my kensai mage using the celestial fury.my party is evil so i cant use the defender.moreover i have a halforc fighter and he is dual wielding the long swords.
And the most important part is i love that scimitar
But bag of holding works great.he didnt appear again for it.And i discovered that matchor is not able to dimensiondoor at dungeon kind of places.
It seems that i m the winner for now lol

Another option is to install the Ease of Use mod. You can get it

here

One of the components of that mod is "Keep Drizzt's Loot, Disable Malchor Harpell". That should fix it for you ...

Not sure if it would work, but you could try sucking out his brains and killing him permanently that way.
