Help me get rid of Cernd and still have not got harper pin!!!*spoilers*

Picked up cernd from trademeet, took him along just to whack that lich and mage that you recover his son from...

he's been with party for several days now, and the messenger from his old servant still has not come!!

I don't like cernd, and I want to finish the stinking kidnap plot!!!

Sk shows kidnap global var at 4, what do I need to do???

Finished harper plot, slept several times at temple ruins and druid grove, still no pin....

funny thing was, the bandit subplot never happended...

no arrow, no bandits, could be something is messed up...

jaheiraharperplot is at 3....

someone help me!!!

I really don't want to take nature boy to asylum with me, he is so annoying....

By messenger, I suppose you meen Cernd's former friend. He will not come until you've made your way back to Athkatla. So far, I've met him in the Temple Area and in Waukeen's Promenade. Does this help you?

Cernd's quests starts as soon as you enter the city - any part of Amn, the Promenade is the best place though. What's this kidnap global? I don't think it have anything to do with Cernd's quest, it's not in his script.

Can't help with the Jaheira plot, sorry.

I've been in the city for several days now...

running soa with tob and official patch and kevin patch...

drives me nuts, i think I will just dump cernd and do bohi quest.....

Have you done the Druid quest? The quest only happen after you kill Faldorn. You can try spawning the messenger manually:

I've been looking at her script, and have a question: Are you currently in a romance with Jaheira?
- If not, the bandit plot won't happen - at least I don't think it will, anyway it won't effect the Harper quest if you are not in a romance with her - and Terminsel will appear five days after you kill Dermin
- If you are, then Terminsel's appearance is based on real time - timing is similar to delay between romance dialogue, I'm not sure how long that is exactly - after you sleep with her.

I had jaheira kick faldorn's a$$, and did ALL the trade meet quests, including the flayed alive one and the tomb quest...

could it be this quest is stuck because jaheira did the duel??? otherwise you don't get teh staff of thunder and lightning as a reward, and I wanted it....

will try spawns...THANK YOU!

Jaheira is fighting Falgorn all my games save but when the protagonist is druid, it've never spoled anything. (If you do not improve Falgorn's script, all you need is insect plaque and some summons, so there is no need foe Cernd at all).
Jahera quest is complicate, and there is a point you never should rest in open after - until you're ready for right dialog before Dermin's last aproach.
IMO, too early rush to keep might spoil things, too. I guess the lovetalk should be at least about 18 to go for Keep, so there always are things in the town to do - untill Nalia becomes uneasy. So, there are several relatively quick&easy quests to raise rep. etc.

spawn did not work, it spawned the messenger but did not talk to cernd and tell him to go home, got some dialog about drinking.

lordweller, did you get the cernd kidnap quest even though jahirea kicked faldorn, and did you have cernd in the party?

I now suspect it depends on who whacked faldorn, and I had archived saves just before this, and will test out.

I am at demin second dialog, and no I am not romancing jaheira, so that may be why I did not get bandit story

I always got the bandit encounter after I took care of shade lord, and slept int he temple ruins in the open. this game tho I got meronia while in the prominade, so I went wtf, and went to shadelord asap.

already whacked the mercenaries and got jaheira back, and had the second dermin encounter, in which nobody dies and jaheira says she is no longer a harper and you make support noises...

will check my notes on the chronology I have stored away somewhere...

price for killing off the last lich in athlanka, I was keeping score, was the staff of thunder and lightning... cernd must be in party and he must whack faldorn, this is rather annoying but normal, as unless you are a pc druid, or unless you cheated, it is unlikely you have the 3 million xp necessary for jahira to be level 14 druid, to challenge faldorn.

But I cheated, will not pick up cernd, and will keep staff of thunder and lightning...

a often overlooked item, it is celestial fury in all respects, but better, since I seem to recall at least one person saying tis call lightning works indoors...

According to what I see, all you need in order for Cernd's quest to start are:
- Killed Faldorn, doesn't matter who, as long as she's dead
- Cernd in the party
- The party is in the city

If you meet these things, the messenger will spawn and Cernd will initiate the dialogue as soon as he sees the messenger. I have no idea why it was not working.

About the Jaheira thing, according to what you said, you have not finished all of the Harper quests yet. Still one more Dermin appearance and Terminsel will appear six days after that.

After the last Jaheira romance dialogue (or prehaps after the last encounter with her mentor) Terminsel appears after five days of real time have elapsed.

If you have the Baldurdash patch, then you only have to wait one day. That may also be the case if you have ToB and it has the latest patch.

It does not require level 14 to challenge Faldorn, she accepts challenge from any druid regardless of level. (Cernd himself never join as 14th level druid, BTW). 14th level is necessary to challenge for leadership of the Grove only! More, it is not Faldorn you're going to fight this time, you should address the Challenge Master first, it's quite a separate fight and quite separate *anonymous* opponent. (Not sure if those fights are never joined, though)

quitch, sabre, appreciate the help, but I have a possibly broken harper quest, no bandis, and you have to have faldorn killed by jaheira to initiate teh kidnap quest, I believe... this is not the first time I never got the cernd baby kidnap quest when I had him in the party and jaheira killed faldorn.

anyway, planning to dump much of my saves and go back to earlier save in an attempt to get the harper quest done right....

also want to do some things diffently this time around.

You are incorrect UserUnfriendly. The Druid Grove is in no way linked to the Jaheira romance. The kidnap happens after you reach a certain lovetalk, and rest outside.

I'm not quite sure i understand the problem. So some thesis.
1. Cernd has nothing to do with Jaheira, there are two independent stories. Neither any of Trademeet quests do.
2. Bandits *really are* the necessary part of Jaheira quest. In my experience they show up only in the Keep area outdoors. Not sure, though, is it a rule (regarding area).
3. You would never get invitation to Harpers' Hold without bandits, so there the Jaheira story stales. The person calling Jaheira to meet Harpers just never shows up without them.
4. Such person shows up almost immediately after you've solved the Xzar's quest or you have had encounter with bandits, whatever is last.
