| | | Give Kuroisan The Sword? Hmm...tough fight, maybe i should just give him the sword. Of course...I am the child of murder. Any tips on how to kill this Mofo? I can't even remove his spell trap...none of my protection removals seem to work. By the way...why don't my acid arrows work like that? |

| | | Summons. That, and focus your initial party first on Kuroisan. Also, if you've got a druid, use that wonderful spell they've got (name escapes me at the moment) to launch insects at all of 'em.
The first time I faced Kuroisan, I failed terribly and quickly. The second time, a few moments later, I beat him easily and decisively. It's all a matter of momentum, of getting the jump on his attacks.

He's a kensai/mage, "only" level 13/14.
Fully buffed in spells. But he has not Spell Trap.
The globe is due to Spell Immunity: Abjuration.
So you can't use dispel magic on him. Unless you remove SI with a Spell Remover.
I'd suggest Khelben, 'cause he has also Spell Turning up, and maybe
something else.
Also go for breach, he has a LOT of Prot. From Magical Weapons.
Or do as Fable suggests, cover yourself with summons!
Acid doesn't work because of his sword. |

| | | fable, is insect plague, or creeping doom...great spell, but useless against certain spell casters with scripts...and i suspect improved mages...against priests its absolutely great.....
based kurosian this time with tripple summon cow....
it pushed him into temple of helm, and i waited for his stacked spell immunites to wear off, then bashed him for loot....
love sanchu, and found out something funny...
now xyx mentioned in his guide that regen if they regen at the same rate stacks...but combination of bhaal regen, (yes i cheat...no surprise to anyone...) and sanchu definately gave me 1 hit point per second, sanchu, PLUS 3 per second, bhaal regen....i should have only seen the bhaal regen of 3 per second since its different rate than sanchu...and if you have two items with different speed only the faster one is active...
so i am thinking, the icons are different for sanchu regen and ring of gaxx, its the regen spl definition, so a ring of regen and ring of gaxx should STACK...
and sanchu and axe of unyielding or wong fei should stack too...they use the little man icon, whereas the ring of regen and gaxx use the yin yang like symbol....
oh well, more experiments...
oh yeah, summon cow works great, and funny too,....
"scrlzz", try it, you wont be sorry....

| | SPOILERS FOR THOSE INTERESTED... IN BEING SPOILED (highlight to see)
Don't expect to interrupt his spells very often because he has undroppable copies of both the robe of Vecna and the Amulet of Power, so he can cast anything almost instantly.
Plus, he casts Protection From Magical Weapons and Death Fog from scroll, so that you can't interrupt those at all.
He casts almost anything left thru triggers and contingencies, uniterruptable again.
Plus, he has various items that give him a fairly high magic resistance, so most things that could damage him and interrupt him, won't.
I strongly recommend to start the fight throwing at him all the Lower Resistance you can before he even starts to speak.
(For me, three Chained Lower Resistances from Kelsey connected, and then I kenw that *this* time, it was going to be a real fight at last)
He has a LOT of scrolls of Prot. from Magical Weapons.
Consider equipping one of your tanks with normal weapon.
Or maybe more than one.
And then breach, breach, breach, obviously.
Use Wands of Spellstriking if you have them (and if your spellcasters are not good at casting spells while taking acid damage)
He regenerates like hell.
Improved haste on every fighter or you'll never be going to see the end of it.
He likes to cast cloudkill and death fog, so most summons aren't going to last long. You need summons that can be protected from these spells (or from acid at least), I suggest Simulacrums, Images and Planetars, if you don't have any, don't waste time on summons I'd say.
Or you can just count his spells (he has 2 Cloudkills and 2 Death Fogs IIRC) and save some summons for when he runs out of them.
Minor globe of invulnerability blocks the "acidic backlash" from his sword (wich is actually an Acid Arrow, 2nd level spell).
Protect all party with Minor Globes with a single casting of Limited Wish.
Oh, and don't try to fool him by dropping the Celestial Fury... This causes an error (and he doesn't even bother to pick it up! Silly Kensai)

| | | even more spoilers...
he stacks spell immunity abby with other spell immunties, so he is immune until the spell immunity wears off to abby spells...like breach and remove magic,,,so does undead sola....you can either run away and let the immunity run out, or wes has said spell strike, ruby ray and wand of spell strike work....he packs stoneskin, so unless you have a heavy warrior heavy group, dont bother with normal weapons unless you can seriously pound on him...my tactics use ring of ram to push him into a building, then wait until spell immunity wears off then bash....

If you wear Gaxx and hold down the tab key while your cursor is *not* over a party member, you can watch the HP regenerate 1 per second. But if you add the RoR, every third second your HP will advance by 2.

| | actually, i found the reverse to be true...i had ring of regen and gaxx on immie, and removing the ring of regen and with it had same speed...you can see the regen speed on the char stats screen, if your game is not set to pause while on stats screen....
of course, this could be due to wes sola, and wes is really good at catching reiteration stacking cheese...i suspect he patched the game engine using a function to auto locate all spells, and auto nerf the reiterations each spell has...
but the bhaal powers are not nerfed...hence the stacking of regen bhaal power and sanchu....
i am thinking xyx and alson and littiz all have sola mod on system, since we are all fans...alson for example is the only cheeser known to have successfully cheesed eclipse....telly field, but its not really cheese, just good tactics...

| | more cheese...alert....
ever wanted to make a sorc immune to magic??? you can, at least for a few turns....
start stacking spell immunites....alteration, div and others...add enough and you can be immune to every spell, use inc acuity to cast fast, and it works great...
but make sure you cast spell immunity abby LAST...as spell immunity itself is a abby spell, so after spell immunity abby, you are immune to spell immunity spell...

Spell Immunity doesn't block your OWN spells, so you should be able to
stack multiple SI in any order. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
