Cool difference between 18 strenght and 25..

i m not much into ad&d rulez, just read drizzt books and played bg1 and now playing 2.

a minsc with 19 strengh(hill giant girdle) is how different from a minsc with crom faeyr?

i mean does strenght affect ur thaco, to hit, to damage, or what?

xcept from weight allowance, can u give me examples of damage that could be given if a minsc was wielding a long sword+2 vs crom faeyr?

thz u

For a fighter strength is probably the single most important attribute since it effects both chance to damage and the amount of damange inflicted on an opponent.

If you look at the chart on pp 225 of you manual you can see this illustated.

For example: Say you have a fighter with a base thaco of 10.

Well if you give him an 18 str. his Thac0 moves to 9 and he does 2 more damage to his oppenents in addition to whatever the weapon gives .

Now give him a 25 str. his thac0 moves down to 3 and he'll do 14 more damage.

When playing a fighter type you should always try for 18/76 or better...

You should also get to know the rules as that is one of the funnest aspects of ad&d. Maximizing strenths and minimizeing weeknesses is fun.
