Can't find Amber SPOILERS

I am playing a new runthrough as a Fighter/dualled to a mage.
Party members, Jaheira and Saerli. I was wanting to play Amber as my thief, but have been unable to find her. I have been leaving various quests due to needing a thief first and am wondering if that is the reason why she cannot be found. Any thoughts? I would appreciate minimal help to avoid spoiling things too much.

Deleted, confused Amber with Fade!!!! Yeah, I'm a dipstick!

OK, now brain has been inserted. To find Amber you need to overhear a conversation between some kids about a demon, on talking to them you get pointed to the Athkatla prison, it should follow naturally from there.

I've only encountered the kids in the Bridge district, close to the Tanners shop, not sure if that was coincidence or if that's their only spawning point. They don't turn up on start up though, you have to do something to trigger their spawning, and I'm not sure what that is.

Thanks, I got a bit confused because of having met a demon in Waukeen's Promenade!!

They must randomly spawn in one of the sleazy districts because I have encountered them in both the Bridge and the Docks.

I'm not sure if you actually have to do anything to trigger the kids. It may be based on a timer set after exiting Irenicus' dungeon. I guess the easiest way to find out would be to check out her forum.

Thanks I have found her. The reason that I asked here was that the Amber site was deliberately vague. Fair enough, they didn't want to spoil things, but the first post was sufficient as far as I was concerned. I must admit that I like her and that with her my party is very well balanced except that I don't have a cleric for dealing with those level drains.
