Beljuril and other jewelery

I got a blue beljuril gem. I remember reading somewhere that it is used to enhance something or is a piece of a quest, or some other thing. Wassit for?

Also. Very early in the game, I get a "Necklace - 1GP". It isn't described any more than that. I don't throw it away because it might be worth something (more than 1 GP) to a merchant. It is orangeish with a small, dark-red stone in the center.

Thanks

AC

The 1 GP necklace is just that, so sell it. For the other:

The Beljuril and the Bronze Horn of Valhalla will produce the Iron Horn of Valhalla, while a diamond will upgrade that in turn to the Silver Horn of, etc. Better summoned creatures, with each upgrade.
