| | I started out as a blade, but found myself using him mostly as a (relatively weak) mage by the time I got to chapter 3. The fights were getting too tough for him. I also made good use of him as a pick pocket, but I don't think I'd play one as a PC again (I'd consider picking up Haer-Dalis though).
PS - your english is fine... I can barely hear the accent.

| | My take on bards:
Blade: Bonuses focussed on himself. Problem is that even with those bonuses he still lacks the number of attacks to be a good fighter. He's sort of a fighter/mage with pickpocket ability...problem is that a fighter mage would fight and mage much better.
Skald: Excellent bard song, very strong in a party. Gives almost Kensai level bonuses to everyone (+4/+4 vs +6/+6).
Jester: Haven't tried it, but the invis/cloak of non-detect, Jester's song sounds like a lot of fun. Run into the room and let the monsters kill eachother.
Normal Bard: I wish there was better documentation on exactly what his song does... |

| | Sethir; Actually we have spoken of bards before on this board. Still, it is good of you to take the subject up again. Bards are clearly underestimated, in my opinion.
Nighthawk; I agree with you on all points. Maybe you could add that a high level blade on Tenser's Transformation is an extremely good fighter and that the saving throw + 4 against the Jester's bard song takes away its usefulness quite a bit. And as for the normal bard song, I've completely given up my hope to get an answer. When not even the guys at Bioware have a clue... |

| | Sigurd; If you have a question that is not related to any thread, then you shoud make a new one. The only persons who will answer your question now are those with interest for bards.
I believe you refer to the cloak of NON-detection. This cloak makes it impossible for mages and, I think, also clerics, to detect you while you are invisible. Otherwise, for example the spell True Sight would dispel the invisibility. I believe the cloak also protects thieves hiding in shadows, but I haven't really tried this. |

| | The Cloak of Non-Detection prevents your character who is hidden in shadows to be detected when a mage casts True Sight or other magical means.Your character must hide in shadows for the non-detection to work.Note that the invisibility feature from the ring of invisibility is not affected by the Cloak of Non-Detection(you will still be revealed even if you are wearing the cloak) http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/smile.gif | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
