all magic party

I'm thinking of starting a new game with a party of made up of all mages...
was wondering if anyone who has tried this before might have some suggestions.
If they have was it fun and challenging or no challenge?

I am somewhat obsessed with magic-users and would like to keep the melee as low as possible. I realize i would need at least one mage/thief and mage/cleric. But it would be cool I think to have one summoner, one necromancer, etc.

I haven't played enough to know if this type of party would get obliterated or
be jusst way too powerful. I imagine with 6 members it would be alright but with a lot of ressurecting in the beginning.

oops-sorry bout the double post

I started an all magic party once but didn't get very far...computer died. Never got back to it. I had troubles at first but after a quest or two it got pretty powerful. I had:

Fighter-Mage protagonist
Thief-Illusionist
Cleric-Mage
Invoker
Conjurer
Sorceror
