Viconia

Today when I was playing BG1, Viconia wouldn't join my party. She thanks me for killing that dude that was after her, says that our paths may meet again(reference to BG2?), then leaves.

My party currently consists of me(TN, Human, Fighter) and Imoen.

Ah, your charisma must be too low. Many NPC's will not join your party if they have a "negative reaction" to you. In BG1, try to always have the PC with the highest charisma talk to NPC's.

Well, she joined my party when I played through the first time and my PC at that time had a chr of 12. I think my current PC has a Chr of 7. I tried having Imoen talk to Viconia, but Viconia did the same as when I had my PC talk to her.

My reputation is 10. I don't remember exactly what my rep was when she joined my party in my previous game, other than that it was higher than 10. I think it was about 14 or 15.

NPC reactions are random numbers generated by the game whenever any party member speaks to an NPC. They're adjusted by the charisma bonus/penalty. I've noticed that NPC reactions are used far more often in BG1 than in BG2, which is why it's important to get the party member with the highest charisma to speak the first time to any NPC. In Viconia's case, you need to make sure she approaches Imoen to ask for help.

That worked! Viconia offered to join and is now a member of my party! Thanks, Sojourner!
