Using the same voice?

So, ive finally completed BG1 (woo!) and want to export my character to use on BG2. So far ive had no problems, however I would like to ask if there is any way I can use the same voice that I used in BG1? Im not a huge fan of the voices in 2.

Well you'll have to get the soundset from somewhere and import it as a custom soundset (look in the manual for more info).

Thanks, though I cant seem to find the soundset.. Its just the default male one I need, I found a DL on filefront but you have to pay for that, and in my BG directory I can only find the other soundsets for some reason, not the default one.

Isn't the default one, one of the other soundsets?

I still havent figured this one out. I'll probably just have to start BG2 with a different character voice or something.

Isn't it just a matter of copying the contents of the Sounds directory to the BG2 Sounds directory? Might only work with BGTutu, but that's not hard to install...

There's also a little tool that converts IWD & IWD2 voicepacks to BG2 format. I've got voicepacks from all 4 games now (plus some from SP).

unfortunately that didnt work either. I just cant find the soundset anywhere. I did an entire full install of BG, ran the tutu mod, then I just litterally put the sounds directory from the BG1 tutu into the BGII directory. I have all the BG voice sound sets now available for selection at character creation in BGII, except for one. The one that I want! lol.. It still plays the default soundset from bgII when I press play. I dont know whether the default voice from BG1 is stored on the CD's or something, I just cant find it anywhere.

Which voice is the one you want exactly?

Just the default male voice from BG1. basically its the only option for a voice if you do the minimum install, but I think the voice suits a Paladin more than most in BGII (save Keldorns )

Anyway, thanks for the help. Appreciate it even if it doesnt get solved .

I seem to remember that the default voices were the same in both games?

They both have a default voice, but they sound very different.

Update: ... I found it! after months of looking I just downloaded near infinity and acm2wav and ripped them from bg and placed them in the BGII sound folder. Now I can finally start my second run through of shadows of amn (and first run through of ToB)!!
