Tell me what party you'd do....

| | Yoshimo/Imoen, Keldorn, Anomen, Mazzy, Valygar? Good fighting in that team, as well as good specials |

| | Oops, forgot where i was....not BG2 section..
Be original, skip Minsc and his witch.. As well as Jaheira/Khalid.
Use the Paladin, Maybe Imoen, maybe the magician in end of chapter 2, where the halforc was? |

| | Yeah, how "original" do you want to be?
As a good Ranger:
Ranger +
Ajantis, Kivan, Branwen, Xan, Imoen.
Substitute Branwen & a fighter for Jaheira & Khalid. Or drop Branwen for Yeslick (later in game).
Dual Imoen to mage and drop Xan for another fighter. Or drop Xan & Imoen for Minsc & Dyanheir. But you need a thief - Alora, Coran or Safana.

Ranger
Shar Teel dualled to thief (so thief problem solved with also a good fighter)
Branwen
Then?????

| | Well there are many combinations.
I would say Kivan and/or Coran
Don't dual Imoen - best thief in the game http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/cool.gif |

| | I more or less agree with Gruntgoy. Usually I dual Imoen to mage at level 6 (I think), and drop Xan (or any mage I have) for Safana or Coran... Depends on how many sidequest I do before I meet either of them. |

| | I'm currently going through BG1 as a ranger. I'm in Durlag's Tower now. http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/frown.gif http://www.gamebanshee.com/ubb/frown.gif
I had a great party, and I really recommend it. I have to warn you though, it's mageless. BUT, in BG1 you really don't need a mage. You're much better off having an extra fighter. All those wizards just tagged along in my games, doing nothing.
Here it is:
Me
Minsc
Kivan
Ajantis
Coran
Yeslick
As you can see, this party is VERY combat-oriented. All NPCs are warrior types.
The only problem I'm having now is Coran's trap disarming. In Durlag's Tower, he can detect almost every trap, with 60 on detect traps, but some of them can't be disarmed.
I have to run my PC through them to disarm them, causing some damage. Not that that's a big problem, he's got 120 HP. |

| | Pope, your team is a really fighting one.....
Anyway i think that with a ranger i'll have:
me
Shar teel (dual class to thief early)
Kegain
Branwen
a mage (choose at the moment....)
Maybe Jahiera.... (kalid killed)
But with a thief as main char. i'll have to think about that.
My problem in BGI is that i don't like dropping a character that has been with me for a long time, so i always end up not using the NPC in the late game....

Me (elven ranger)
Minsc
Branwen
Imoen
Dynaheir
Xan
I had to keep minsc and Imoen, might kill dynaheir and replace her with someone else, not sure yet though

| True, but it's a very good one as well. I'm having no trouble at all in Durlag's Tower (except for those friggin' bugs!! ).
Having a lot of fighters is cool. Quote:

| | In BGI fighters were really cool; kegain and shar teel are two of my favourite character....the regeneration ability of kegain was something incredibly useful in BGI.
PS: can you please change your sig.??? I think a message board is not the right place for that....
