Narlen Darkwalk's 1st quest

After the Flaming Fist Soldier confronts me, and I warn Narlen and the other.....what do I do? I tried moving to the north section and back, but he was there waiting for me still. I'm guessing I should run away and stealth until he leaves? Is that it?

If I'm not mistaken, you should head back to the Shadow Thieves' Hideout in the Sorcerous Sundries section of Baldur's Gate. I guess you figured it out already...
