Well I feel that the story get explained well during convesations with various people - but there are people scattered around the game that also holds interesting information, for instance I remember a seer that told me something like she could see I would be followed by death - then she tried to run and if you confronted her a couple of times, she would panic and attack you
And there are also books that explain for instance the "times of trouble" etc.

So in conclusion I would say that most of the main plot/story (call it what you want) is explained during play, but if you search, you can find more information

Question

Then explain how i haven't found out that Sarevok is my brother (just by playing the game, and not by searching books, scrols ect.

Well that is information you would get by reading some of the scrolls you find when chasing him.

Did you read any scrolls? (like the scroll optained of Gorions body?)

Um, how could you not know Sarevok was your brother? Didn't you read his journal, a vital quest item? Doesn't he say "You are indeed family" when you finally fight him? I honestly don't intend to come off like a know-it-all but it's pretty obvious if you're attentive. Take this exerpt from Sarevok's Diary:

27 of Tarsahk, 1368: I take my leave of Candlekeep now, and not a moment too soon, for I am sure that Gorion has perceived my heritage. One thing I am certain of: (PLAYER NAME) is, in actuality, one of Bhaal’s brood as well. (PLAYER NAME) has all the markings, and it would explain Gorion’s curiosity in my studies. Though there is nothing I can do now, I will have to make certain to return and kill the little brat. It would be foolish of me to let one of my siblings live, especially one being brought up by the Harpers (and I am sure that is where Gorion’s allegiances lay).

The plot, simplified, is such:
Your mother is an old lover of the Harper archmage Gorion. She is impregnated by Bhaal, the God of Murder who has foreseen his own death during the Time of Troubles and has spawned a brood of mortal offspring intended to be the device for his rebirth. She dies in childbirth leaving you to be raised in the library fortress of Candlekeep by Gorion. Sarevok is another child of Bhaal. He lacks your benevolent upbringing and when a priest of Bhaal confronts him about his heritage, he kills him and begins his own studies on how to become the new Lord of Murder. He goes to Candlekeep and discovers the seer Alaundo’s prophesies on the Bhaalspawn. He leaves when Gorion gets suspicious of him, but not before he has learned you are one of his siblings.

Sarevok thinks he can ascend to godhood by having a massive war of sacrifice where countless people are killed. He then uses his position as the stepson of the leader of the Baldur’s Gate branch of the Iron Throne (a ruthless merchant league) to engineer a vast conspiracy. He contaminates the mines of Nashkel, an Amnish city, with a potion that destroys iron. Hired mercenaries (the Hobgoblin Chill Tribe and the Black Talon humans) intercept other iron shipments, slaughter the couriers and spread the contamination. Meanwhile doppelgangers replace key officials and help spread rumors that Amn is preparing to go to war. Paranoia spreads throughout the region.

Now begins your part in the story. Sarevok travels back to Candlekeep and attempts to kill you but only manages to get Gorion. He puts a price on your head and sends bounty hunters after you. You start unraveling his plans one by one but he manages to frame you for the murder of his own stepfather and the other leaders of the Iron Throne, thus making you an outcast. Confident that things are now going his way again, Sarevok continues his insane plot. He kills a Duke (I forget which one) and attempts to assassinate Duke Eltan as well. Since Sarevok has been campaigning pretty hard and advocating war he is voted a Duke of Baldur’s Gate. He intends to slaughter everyone at his coronation but you intervene and expose him. He flees to a secret Temple of Bhaal under the city. You follow him and have a mighty battle to the death. You come out victorious. The end…until Shadows of Amn that is.

I think the Duke killed is Entar Silvershield, who also happens to be Skye's dad.

Wow, that was a great synopsis
