Multiple Items...

Not that I am complaining but in some areas where I KNOW there is only one item (such as a certain ring near the FAI) I have been finding multiples. Two Rings of Wizardry, two Algernon's Cloaks, and THREE Helms of Balduran in BGII. Like I said, I'm not complaining but what causes this and could it lead to a more serious bug?

Do you have any mods installed? I haven't ever heard of that happening before.

I haven't read this anywhere either. As previously asked: any mods?

The last retail version of the game, called "Baldur's Gate: The Original Saga" (3 CD's and includes TotSC expansion), does NOT need any patches, as it comes fully patched outta the box. Otherwise, this is the correct order of software installation:

Baldur's Gate (the main game)
TotSC expansion (this automatically patches the main game)
TotSC Official Patch (from Bioware.com, this patches the expansion)

Ahhh... multiple Rings of Wizardry...

I would definitely reinstall. There is no telling what else is messed up in your game.

It has happened to me every time that I carry items over from ToSC. The ones that I have found relplicated are the golden pantaloons and Baldur's helmet.

I don't know if you realise, but there are two rings of wizardry in Baldurs gate1
So that item at least is not unique.

I wouldn't worry. Just say thank you very much. After all you didn't worry when you got two sets of identical arrows in the same chest did you? Also, on visiting the Royal Armoury, there were several helmets belonging to Henry VIII. So on that premise there is no reason why you shouldn't have two Kiel's helmets or whatever.

Guess what! I have just found two Balduran's Helms in the same place! I think I know what has happened. I imported two players from different games,
a fighter and a druid. Both had Balduran's Helms. I dropped them both on entry and picked them up later. Now in the first trapped room I found two helms where I usually find one. I think the game redistributes what you had on entry, and if you had more than one then, you will find more than one. Due to the way I played I now have four helms!

Or wore four helmets on top of each other. You know, protection from critical strikes are imba.
