I had this problem too...What version of the game are you running? I had to add the patch (that someone sent the link to me on this forum - Thank You)

You can't attach an .exe file, but the patch is on, I think, The Baldurdash web site.

The ring really is there, tho.

There is another one once you can get to Baldur's Gate itself. It is in the same area as the Flaming Fist HQ. There is a house along the wall, south of the fountain. You have to kill the mage and his two bodyguards, but hey...We're talking about TWO rings of wizardry
