| | | This is how I did it in my most recent game:
My party:
Arkanis - fighter/thief
Imoen - thief/conjurer
Khalid - fighter
Jaheira - fighter/druid
Ajantis - paladin
Xan - enchanter
Everyone except for Xan was equipped with ranged weapons. My main PC was equipped with arrows of detonation, arrows of dispelling, and arrows of piercing. He was wearing the Ring of Free Action and the Boots of Speed. I had my fighter types drink potions of Heroism and Giant Strength. Imoen and Xan drank potions of Power and cast Spiritual Armor on themselves. Then everyone drank potion of Speed. I stealthed my main PC and sent him up to start the battle. After Sarevok's little speech, my PC fired arrows of detonation into Sarevok's crowd, then fell back to my party when Sarevok gave chase. One of the baddies teleported himself near my party, so my party quickly took him out with arrows/bullets/melf's acid arrows (Xan). Meanwhile, Sarevok kept chasing my main PC, who was using hit-and-run tatics with arrows of piercing. My party just stood and nailed Sarevok with arrows and bullets. At one point I sent Khalid to go toe-to-toe with him, but had to pull him out to heal. The next thing I knew, Sarevok was giving his death speech.

| | | I tried a similar approach, with my Ranger wearing the boots of Speed and the ring of free action, using arrows of Detonation and piercing. Somehow, Sarevok was always faster than me. I once tried ensnaring him in a web, but it didnīt seem to bother him !
What about the traps ? It seems as if they canīt be disabled. |

| | Nope, the traps on the skull can't be disabled, but it's fun to watch the baddies run over them and injure themselves.

| | | This is a tough battle but not entirely impossible. I used Stealth with my Ranger or Thief and approached the back of the room along the left side. When I saw one of Sarevok's henchmen I made sure I was out of the line of sight of any of the others and attacked the single character using ranged weapons (short bow for Thief/long bow for Ranger). The idea of this is to lure them one by one and kill them off, so that in the end you only have to face Sarevok. I then had Sarevok chase after my main character (a fighter) while the others attacked him with enhanced missile weapons (bullets+2, arrows of biting,...) and magic missiles. Eventually, Sarevok bit the dust.

| | Every time i've made it to the end, i end up using the same tactics.
Summon anything i can, as many time and let Sarevok try take then out. Then my party just uses every range weapon possible, bullerts, arrows, axes, magic and goes for it.
But now that i'm soloing the game only with a ranger/cleric, i have no idea what i will do when the time comes?
I'll let you know when i get there.

| | | Sarevok can be taken out toe to toe with a fighter. I've done it many times now.
The trick is to get his haste dispelled. When Semaj ( the mage that teleports to your party) sees your character after the little talk with Sarevok, he cast dispel magic at you. Try and let Sarevok stand beside you, so he's dispelled also.
Now, all your buffs are probably gone, but so are his, and as it just so happens, the player usually have potions of power, speed and strengh in abbundance...
It's far more fun to beat him up toe to toe than run around scared and shooting arrows at him from a save distance.

PS: Arrows of piercing are not the greatest to use vs Sarevok, as the extra 1D6 damage has a save and if that's made, the damage is negated. As it so happens, Sarevok always saves.
It's better to use "regular" arrows +2. |

Kivan
Khalid
Dynaheir
Brawnen
Coran
(How to get Khalid without Jaheira and Dyanheir without Minsc? Just "forget" to heal Jaheira and Minsc. They die and you can keep their companions)
In this fighter-heavy party I just went head to head agains him. Potions run heavily, but in the end Sarevok fell. The first time Khalid and Coran died, but later I reloaded and replayed the battle until no one died. It can be done
other party:
PC Necromancer
Imoen
Minsc
Dynaheir
The fighter/cleric dwarf (forgot his name)
Garrick
Lots of summons from Wand of Monster summoning. I mean A LOT. The game ran slow with so many creatures on the screen. No fun at all, my party suffered minimal damage.

| | | I killed him by summoning A LOTT of monsters, they keep him and his friends busy while you do you casting and shooting and occasional head to head fighting.

| | | Most people just do the same thing.
Summon alot of stuff, and kill him from a distance. I did.
That's why i'm going to try and take him out, only with my ranger/cleric, one to one. Somehow, i think i'm going to have a very hard time.

| | | Re: How to kill Sarevok Quote: Originally posted by Nagroth So, How is it done ? | Well, I had my PC(CG, Half-Elf, Ranger), Dynaheir, Minsc, Coran, Imoen(not dualed to mage), and Viconia.
I had Dynaheir constantly summoning monsters with her Wand of Monster Summoning while the rest of my party attacked from a distance, except for Minsc who went in with boots of speed to attack the others that are with Sarevok. Then I got attacked by a couple of Battle Horrors(?) that came in from the side, so while Dynaheir used monsters to keep Serevok away, I attacked the BHs since they would kill me if I didn't kill them first. While I was fighting the BHs, one of the wolves Dynaheir had summoned landed the fatal blow on Sarevok. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
