| | | How did your character/party end up? Hey, i'm just wondering what other people's parties look like after beating Sarevok. I just did my first solo run (i.e. no XP cap ) and i ended up with exactly 2.950.000 XP and 454.165 gold. Here's a screenie. http://www.student.vu.nl/~rme210/pic...a%20Sairon.jpg
I started out with 86 points (a mere 23 points above average):
Str: 15
Dex: 18
Con: 15
Int: 17
Wis: 8
Cha: 13
I have a whole bunch of mods. Grey Clan Episode One, The Siren's Call, Tactics and Sword Coast Strategems are the most relevant here. Especially Grey Clan adds a lot of XP. I used some of the improved fights from SCS/Tactics: Bandit Camp Tent, Ulcaster Vampiric Wolf (nasty!) and Final Fight.
I dual-wielded long swords. With the Gauntlets of Ogre Power, Long Sword +2 (from Greywolf) and Long Sword +3 (from a Grey Clan baddie) i had 3 Attacks with a THAC0 of 2/5. With the Long Bow of Marksmanship my THAC0 was 1 (3 Attacks also). With quadriple backstab i did 96 once (on a Kobold...).
Finally, i killed Sarevok by backstabbing him 4 times after taking a Potion of Speed and a Potion of 23 Strength. His cronies were tougher... :/ |

| | How did my first party end up after fighting Sarevok the first time??? A bloody heap on the floor It took me a few tries to be able to beat that bunch... I wish I had a screen capture of it, we were all pretty much laying all over the place except for Imoen, she WAS all over the place (chunkified)...

Remember to save and save often for those pesky reload situations.

| | | I had a F/C dwarf PC, Imoen, Jaheira, Khalid, Minsc, and Dynaheir.
Khalid and Dynaheir didn't make it through the final fight.
Weird, eh?

| | | I think that most of us play with the experience cap. I certainly do. So usually my final experience is the cap. On my last non-violent solo run I ended up with about 90,000, considerably less than the cap. Because I didn't kill anybody, I actually had a shortage of cash for most of the game.

| | | My last solo playthrough I ended up with 160,000 exp, which is the cap fot ToSC as well as about 200,000 gold.
I used one of Drizzt's swords, but mostly, I stuck to wands.
I play with no mods or tweaks installed.

| | | I have no experience with modded BG1, but I estimate there is about 1,500,000 XP in the non-modded BG1 with TotSC installed.
I base this on the fact that I currently have a character about to complete Durlags tower with 750,000 XP. He has yet to finish the last chapters (Iron Throne, Candlekeep, Return to BG) and has not done every single minor side quest, but TotSC is nearly done.
BG city itself though, holds a lot of mini quests and quite a bit of XP if you are able/have patience to find them all.
Further, it requires about 1,000,000 to get 6 characters to the XP cap of TotSC.
As for gold: tons and tons of gold available - all is a question of how much inventory space you have.

| | | There is actually no limit to the amount of experience available. If you keep on sleeping where the Sirines live, you will be attacked by them over and over again. |

| | | Yep, but of course it doesn't matter as experience over 160,000 doesn't help you.

Agree that with exploits, you can sleep in the cave and spawn unlimited flesh golems worth 2,000 per pop. Then of course you can start thinking about how they got there. However, before you reach the ToB XP levels, your character will probably die of old age..
I find these exploits just as viable as using shadow keeper, as while rest/spawn is doable in-game it is just as unrealistic as had you just given yourself the XP via an editor.
It's too bad that these spawn points don't have a logic applied to them, which after a while your character is either left alone or swarmed by a whole horde of whatever creature and ultimately captured. OR ambushed by Sarevok again, as he would probably get the info that you're staying there after having camped out in the same cave for a month or two.
Edit: My character ended with a little over 1,000,000 XP, so believe the original estimate of 1,5 mil isn't too far off I think for the unmodded BG1+TotSC.

| | | Just played a solo fighter/mage/thief without killing anyone and avoiding all deaths but those strictly necessary. That is, Mulhaney, Davercorn, the Doppelgangers in the Ducal Palace, and Saverok himself. Before fighting Saverok, I had an experience of 0. I got 15000 points when Saverok died, even though I didn't kill him. My cash at the end was about 3000gp.
A complete contrast to the starter of the thread which just goes how you can have great satisfaction by playing the game in completely different ways and with different objectives. |

If not it's a bit funny that you've finished BG numerous times and don't get his name right
