Post Help please-Durlags tower

Hi,i'm new to baldurs gate, and having opened chapter 7, decided a detour to Durlags tower, was in order, completed? the upper 3 levels, and now i'm stuck on two, of the riddles, in the lower level, one of which is something about "and still i sleep", the other, oh i don't know, anyway it would appear items are called for, but i can't find anything, please help, i don't really want to attempt, the long climb of the stairs, without nailing this. Thanks.

Right, its the first level of the tower, below ground level, theres lots of respawning phase spiders, and the like around, the level itself is quite large, and heavily trapped, the problem i have if with the 4 "warders", that appear to be guarding, some sort of entrance, that looks like a well shaft. 2 of these warders, who each give you some kind of riddle, as to there requirements, i have satisfied, the other 2 i can't seem to give them what they want, one of them keeps harping on about being asleep- i assume you've got to hit a gong, in one of the other rooms, but i can't find the hammer! And the other, is "thirsting for some liquid", or words to that affect. Apologies, if thats not enough detail, can't think how else to describe it...Anyway thankyou.

I presume you're talking about the first dungeon level of Durlag's Tower. Be prepared to go back after opening the way to the next level down; there's more here than you can carry, and it's not easy to return to the next levels.

Send your thief through checking for traps to find all the secret doors and traps - and pick up anything out of the ordinary. You should find a forge, a gong, a press, a sword in a stone, and some books to read. If you're having trouble figuring out what to do with these... SPOILERS AHEAD...

.

Pride - Go to the room with all the books and click on each one, then go "talk" to the sword in the stone.
Greed - Find the Beljuril Gem.
Fear - Find the pieces of the gong mallet and assemble them at the forge. Go hit the gong with it.
Love - Find the grapes and machine handle. Fix the machine by standing next to it and clicking on it. Next, take the grapes to the press and click on it. You should now have a bottle of wine.
Return to the warders and talk to each one, but speak to Love last. Just before speaking to the last one, save. Trust me.

Also, Protection from Undead Scrolls help a lot in some parts of the dungeon.

The warders were easy, if you don't mind losing a little XP. I hid my party in one of the side corridors, then sent my thief to talk to the last one. As soo as they went hostile, he lured them towards the warder who casts Cloudkill, then drank a potion of invisibility. The dumb-arse warders just stood there attacking each other until only one was left, which was taken care of with a swift backstab. Nothin' to it.
