Edwin wants to leave

I now have Edwin & did the Dynaheir quest, had to kill her in order to keep Edwin.
Since then he has left twice, I had to reload and change what I was doing. In order to keep him do I have to do evil things like kill the little girl that wanted her cat back? I have a Paladin as main character, Branwen, Khalid,
Imoen, Jaheira & (can't remember the name)
