Durlags Dwarfs and StairMaster

I have a question in Durlags Dungeon what are those stairs for in the southwestern section of the map by the four dwarvin doom gaurds? There two set of stairs the one on the northen end, when entered just send back to were I first entered the sair? Basically goes nowhere. Also whats the scoop with the dwarvin doom gaurds. Do I kill these guys? I think I cleared out all of Durlags Jeep but still wonder about those stairs????

NeverMind all, I checked the walkthrough and learned that these are fake stairs and the Doom Gaurds are fair game. Thanks GB
