| | Did they get divorced? My understanding was that Jaheira and Khalid were a team and that if you dismissed one, the other would go too (unless one was dead or alone in a building.)
Well, I decided to dispense with them so I dismissed Khalid. He said nothing to anyone; he just walked away and vanished. Jaheira also said nothing, and stayed with the party.
This took place in the Friendly Arm inn. My party has since moved to the Peldvale map, but Jaheira is still with us.
Can anyone explain this? |

| | You must have been bugged. I've never seen/tried/heard of dismissing one of them, and the other didn't follow.
"Better part of valour"
(actually I played with Khalid in my party everytime in BG1, and got Jaheira killed instead ) |

| | You can dismiss a character if taken into an isolated map on their own and you run off. You can then return to the main map and the rest of your party, the other half of any partnerships will stay with you - they will not initiate their "I'm staying with so & so" dialogue because the first person never go to talk to you.

| | Yeah - or you can simply go into a building - but as Abecedarian descripes it, it seems like a bug. |

| | I guess it was a beneficial bug, since it helped to keep Jaheira. Interestingly, when I dismissed her a few days later, she stayed around--as far as I know she is still standing outside the barracks in Nashkell.
This whole question of what happens when you dismiss NPC's would be worth exploring, since it obviously affects the game. It would be nice to know if someone will be available again.

| I can't recall any NPC that aren't available again, so you can pick them up again, unless you dismis them someplace you can't return to.
Just remember, if any NPC has been in your group, and you dismish them and want to pick them up again, that they will not have increased in level as you have.
It is only when you add them to your group the first time that they will match your level. |

| | Why do everyone want Jaheira? She is both a poor fighter and a poor cleric (druid)!

| What !? She is the best romance interest in BG2 (this is the main reason why I keep her in my party)! Man , you really don't know what you say .
In BG1 she was always in my parties (then I didn't know about wonderful romance in BG2) because she was the main party healer, lightning - there were many outdoor places in BG2 to cast this spell, I used also her animal summoning spell - it was much better in BG1 (Manveru and his 40 skeletons was the power). And even in BG1 she had the best female picture.
About Khalid : I really don't know why Jaheira had chosen such a looser (later she made much better choice ).

| But in BG2 she is a good fighter and a good druid. With ToB she'll become fierce (can't wait) |

| Not to bash heads or anything, but I agree here. She's severely out-tanked by just about any real warrior, and a lousy priest at that. Much, much better in BG2, though. Plus a cool romance. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
