Angry cannot deactivate traps ?????

Can someone help me, i can locate traps ( red highlighted lines) but the only way i seem to be able to deactivate them is to have someone spring them. I thought the thief could deactivate traps also.

Hello, and welcome to GameBanshee.

If your thieve's Detect Trap skill is too low, your thieve can't deactivate traps. You need to improve the skill when you level up, or drink potion for thieving skills (I can't remember the name) to boost skill temporarily.

Traps

The potion of master thievery (or potion of perception, IIRC) can help - but first, are you using the thieving skill tool - the same one you use to pick locks? You have to use that one on a detected (red highlighted) trap, and you will - depending on the skill check- get:
Trap disarmed
Trap not disarmed

So, are you getting Trap not disarmed messages? If so, your skill is inadequate. If not, you're likely using the wrong tool.

Hope this helps

It also depends on what armor your thief is wearing. Some thiefs can wear better armor than others (for example a fighter thief). If you have a fighter thief and he/she is wearing anything but leather armor he/she won't be able to pick locks or disarm traps.
