Can not install game

Ihave the five disc B.G. that I had played on my older P.C.
I recently tried to install it on my new P.C. but it would not
fully install. Instead I get a code 581. I tried to uninstall
and I can not do that either. My new P.C. is an hp pavillion 510n
with Windows XP, 1.2GHz,40GB. Please help me find what I am doing wrong. Thank You.

Try referring to Interplay's BG Trouble-shooting page.

Try removing it this way:
  • Click on the Start button of your task bar
  • Select Settings, then click on Control Panel
  • Open Add/Remove Programs
  • Scroll down the Install/Uninstall list and select Baldur's Gate
  • Click on the Add/Remove button

If you can't do it this way, then you'll need to use Regedit (with CAUTION!!).
