I will. At least one time unmodded, perhaps more... who knows? Then, when the next release of EasyTutu comes, i'll go for another run with my single-class evil Thief muahahahha!! (ok, not that evil)

You will lose the ability to specialize in slings (does it make any difference?) but gain the Enrage ability, which will protect your character from Imprisonment, among other things.

Either way, a Fighter dualled to a Cleric or a Berserker dualled to a Cleric is a very powerful character if you use all of the buffing spells available (Armor of Faith, Righteous Magic, Draw Upon Hoiy Might, etc.), and you will have a very good chance to win the game. When your character becomes a 34th level Cleric, Turn Undead will destroy (or control, if your character is evil) any undead monster in the game, including Demi-Liches. You can also use offensive spells such as Glyph of Warding (the "Holy Hand Grenade"), Holy Smite, Harm, Finger of Death, Storm of Vengeance, etc. Summon Deva is also one of the most powerful summoning spells in the game.
I was looking at the Fighter kits in BG2 and all of them looks awesome! Kensai really got my attention, but Berserker seems quite strong as well. In the other hand loosing the Sling capability doesn't bother me at all... as matter of fact, i don't care (i just don't like Slings, despite how useful they can be).

For now i'll start my human Fighter and play BG1 with him. When the time to export to BG2 comes, i'll make up my mind about choosing one kit (Kensai or Berserker), then i'll dual to Cleric (that's for sure).

I'll aim for something like this for his stats:
  • STR: 18/xx (i'll take it whatever it might be)
  • DEX: 16/17
  • CON: 17
  • INT: xx
  • WIS: 16/17
  • CHA: rest
Of course, the more the better.

I'm that kind of player that need do something else than just hack and slash the mobs, i need to cast spells or do something else while i'm fighting. I think being a Cleric is a good choice, because i can fight (decently i hope) and aid my party as well. Sounds almost to cool for me ;D

For example, you can make use of Greater Whirlwind and Greater Deathblow. But the real power lies in the ability to "stack" the various effects. For example, you can use Armor of Faith and Hardiness simultaneously, and you can use Energy Blades while Critical Strike is in effect. (Cast Energy Blades first, and then cast Critical Strike before you attack.)

Is that too powerful for your taste? If so, you can always just walk up to the monsters and hit them instead of doing anything fancy.
I think this can't be possible simply because i must to play as a human (don't ask why, because i don't have an but "because i want to" :P).

Thanks again for your deep informative reply!!

PS: Excuse me for not replying in more depth, but i have a hard time writing down my thoughts because my english ain't that good. So it's hard to explain myself and at the same time, understand everything i read. Thanks for your patience.

i have to say, this thread is a marvel for me, since i have been playing BG2 for years, but just now i got my copie of BG(1)... so.. i hope i can join in and hack the thread a little :P

Is the import option really going to let me choose a kit? a thought that was never going to happen if i started from BG. Also, should i choose a mage, would i be able to pick the sorceror "kit"? i really think it would be weird, but it would rock for roleplaying porpouses (i used magic all the way, but suddenly i realised my inner power is in my very blood...>> I become a sorceror!

Just waiting to get my hands on my copy.... should arrive this week ^^

Cheers!

yes, you are able to pick a kit, but afaik, only the kits that are listed as kit (so you can go from fighter to a wizard slayer, but not to barbarian).
