If I play the game normally I have a swordfighter mage with spells teleport, fireflash, reserect, and a few others.

Recently I found a character editor and have a "god" character with all stats, spells and techs maxed, along with 1k hp and mp.
It feels great destroying everything. Too bad when you get to Kergan you cant tell him you already killed everyone.

Well, I've played the game a few times, but the latest character I ran through it with was a Half-Orc debutante electrician/smith/fighter/theif. Alas, I didn't plan it well, so by the time I had crafted the Tesla Rod, I had only the firearms skill gained from the Aincient Gods quesline, giving me, at best, a 60% chance to hit anything at range. Plus my perception was very poor. Still, Charged Axes were quite probably the best weapon that I used. Seems they don't suffer from getting damaged when you pound on rock creatures with them

I'm going to try this game again soon. The only problem with it (besides the bugs, which aren't a problem anymore) is choosing the right character, because they all look so damn fun.

I have played

Human gunslinger - He was okay. I think I gave him up at Vendigroth. It was my first so that's understandable. Virgil was useless because he kept wasting his spells on me (which didn't do anything because of high aptitude). I took almost every follower I could.

Human mage - Surprisingly adept. I took a more traditional team with Virgil and Sogg, and eventually Raven, and someone else I forget. I was sent to the void for insulting or attacking (I forget) Nasrudin, made it to the end guy, but couldn't kill him because I never got the device. Gave that guy up.

Elf diplomat - Once I reached the caves with the golems I kind of gave him up. Giving up the ability to really fight anything for the sake of charisma and beauty wasn't really worth it.

Halfling idiot fighter - I gave him the fine steel dagger, pumped up melee, dodge, dex, and strength, destroyed his charisma and intelligence, and just hacked my way through. Probably the most effective character there is combat-wise, but you miss out on EVERYTHING. It's okay, I just wanted to beat the game. When he couldn't hit golems with his dagger he punched them to death. I'll tell you what though, there was some incredibly hilarious dialog. There have been only two games where I've really laughed out loud - Secret of Monkey Island and the idiot path in Arcanum. He tore through everyone in the void, right up to the final boss. The ending is pretty wonky though and doesn't really account for you being an idiot if you decide to join the bad guy (I honestly forget his name).
