Do the tech manuals work? How exactly? Are the benefits stackable? I have 35 expertise in gunsmithy. If I have three gunsmithy manuals and five electricity manuals, should they be respectively 55 and 50? It doesn't seem to work. Is the number in your stat screen supposed to change?

Each manual would add your intellegence score to that skill's score, assuming you have that manual in your inventory. Yes they stack.

-I have a schematic for the charged accelerator gun.
-It requires 50 expertise in gunsmithy and 53 in electricity.
-I currently have 0 expertise in electricity, 35 in gunsmithy and 13 skill points in intelligence.
-I have 5 electricity manuals in my inventory and 2 gunsmithy ones.
If I do the math this should put :
- my gunsmithy expertise at 35+(2x13)=61
- and my electricity expertise at (5x13)=65

Yet when I try to build the schematic, it says I lack the expertise.

Am I missing something? Is this a bug of some kind?

(I have both the necessary parts.)

Any help is deciphering this problem would be greatly appreciated as this is really dampening my enthusiasm about the game (I sunk all my money into those manuals..)

Your effective skill level should show on the Character page on the Tech Skills tabs.That will include your manuals.

The number for electricity expertise is still at 0, despite the five manuals in my inventory...
