Schematics problem

I've reached 100 on the technological aptitude meter, but despite that I am unable to make any of the items I've learned through schematics (except the Iron Clan key). Am I missing something obvious?

Also, 50 seems to be the maximum level one can reach. Do my companions continue gaining levels after I've maxed out?

Do you have the required items for the schematics? Also, you need enough aptitude in a particular discipline to make those items. The University provides books to temporarily have a higher aptitude.
50 is the maximum level (without any mods, which are highly recommended) and your companions won't level unless you do, so they're stuck at their current level.

Fifty is the max level, but you will still gain XP, but once you reach the next 'level' it should reset, however at that point your companions will level up until they too reach fifty.
