Ring of Gladyss/Archibald

Hello

Each time I try to do this quest, Archibald refuses to give me the ring, despite me talking him into admitting that he likes Gladys. I tried this with several ranks in persuasion, several ranks in Haggle, etc...
I followed the GB walkthrough for figuring out what I was doing wrong, but still, I can only get the ring by stealing it...
Anybody an idea what I could be missing?

There's lots of running back and forward with this quest, I'm writing from pure memory so there's probably lots wrong with what I remember but ~

I remember I talked to Glady to get the quest, talking to the son for some reason, talking to Archibald, talking to Glady again then talking to Archibald before getting the ring.

I think I got Archibald to admit he like Glady then told Glady and found out she liked him too, then told Archibald and got the ring. I could be mistaken though...
