I recently upgraded from Windows Me to Windows XP! Everything is running waay smoother and i've had no problems whatso ever, until now! Arcanum will install eprfectly, but when it came time to actually running the game, it simply didn't start. I know several people have had this issue, but I've never seen any suggestions or resolutions. Any one got any suggestions?

Yes, I do have the trailer installed...its on the load screen when you pop-in the cd. I dont remember there being an option so as to not instal the Empire Earth Trailer. Mind telling me where that is?

well, when you insert Arcanum install(i hope you have the original )then you accept some things, then i acept the rules, and then it comes:there are to options-you make the full install(files needed to play Arcanum)or you make the other Extra install(empire earth trailer).

I've tried both methods now, and neither seem to work with my computer.

I have
1.6 Ghz AMD
128 Mb ATi Radeon, All-In-Wonder
360 Mb Ram
Windows XP Pro, with Service Pack 1

Well, I figured as much...I'll be getting a new motherboard here soon, so as soon as I can get the necessary components....(ie some DDR Ram) I'll go ahead and try the darn thing again. If not, well... I guess Vampire Masquerade: Bloodline will have to satisfy me. :P

When you go to run the game, do it from the start menu. Instead of clicking on the Arcanum option though, look through the other items in the list. You know, somewhere in all that Uninstall, Register, Config type stuff you usually ignore. One of these options should be to run Arcanum in a sort of pared down version. It may be named kinda confusing, but it is there. It's the only way I could get the game to run on my system.

I wish I was able to sound a bit clearer, but it's been a looonnnggg time since I played the game, and don't have it available to install and check for the name of the option.

Hope this is clear enough to be helpful

EDIT: In case that doesn't work, or I'm just getting senile, try looking around here. You may find something helpfull
