I accepted the Blackroot taxes quest . . . but when I tried to move to Blackroot on the world map I was told my path was blocked. I then ventured "by land" to the BRIDGE on the world map, and then I could venture to Blackroot.

Am I ok? Did I mess anything up? Should I have had a ship?

Just checking . . .

When you see 'Your path is blocked.', it only means you can't travel to your chosen destination thru a straight line or just one waypoint. You just have to place your waypoints around the object blocking your path (usually the sea or some mountains) until it's okay to click on your original destination. You can travel to any part of the worldmap (unless it's an island) even if you don't know where you're going. Just click anywhere.

Whew! Thanks! I am just starting Arcanum (it having been recommended by a friend almost 2 years ago) and I am observing this is a game where certain actions or mis-actions can break or "ruin" certain paths so I am trying to be reeeeeal careful.

Thanks again.

Yeah. The game can be pretty complicated, especially character creation and development. But you'll get the hang of it, eventually. If you have more trouble, I suggest reading previous threads. It really helps.

Anytime, dude.
