I know this is possible, but how? I have tried entering combat mode and then clicking on the closed container, but it just sais: Locked. I know I can do it with explosives but they arn't limitless... So how can I force a lock with a weapon?

You can pound on a locked object and break it, though that damages whatever weapon you're using. As I recall, you enter attack mode, and go for it.

Al Reyes: How can I "brake" the lock on a door or chest.
fable: I tried that. I enter combat mode and left-click of the door/chest but the PC tries to open it and all I get is a "you cannot open that" message.

So you are trying to open a lock by "force". Now I get it. You go into combat mode in real time perhaps. Hold down the Alt key then left click the door/chest.
