First post here,

I Have had arcanum a long time, but kept starting over cuz i wanted the most fleshed out story in one sitting.

which leads me to my question, i'm currently playing a expert persuasive chr with some magic, and i'm wondering what followers should i choose to appreciate the game most? i currently have virgil who i like, magnus who i hate cuz he is getting techy on me but i keep him for storyline, and sogg who hasnt really added anything yet. oh i got Gar too who i like but not sure if i need to keep him or not. i'm gonna need some sort of mellee chr. though.

based on descriptions, i'm pretty sure ill bring raven.

im good aligned, and magic user so followers that go good with that would be best.

I haven't been able to make a good tech user btw so some tips on that would be good... actually i'd like to try the game with everything eventually lol.

dunno if it matters but playing a female half-elf with charlatan's protege background.

get the dog, it's awesome and doesn't even take a NPC slot

Definately take the dog... however... I normally forget where he is and arrive when he's dead ! But he is well worth resurrecting!

I like the two elf girls for their dialog.
The good one,Raven, has some good dialog when you meet Nasrudin, and the evil one,Z'an Al'urin , has good dialog when you meet Arronax.

If you have the Dwarf wizard, Jormund, and do not have the unofficial patch, be sure to tell him to wait. When he rejoins, he is a free follower.

yes.. you should ditch Magnus if you're a tech character..... you can keep Sogg because he's a melee giant.... get the dog.... and the two elf girls.... you probably don't know... but if you become master of persuasion you can have good and evil followers... they don't mind..... anyway... you should get rid of virgil.. he sucks..... also good ideas of followers are Perriamn Smythe and Geoffrey Tarelond Ashe... but you can't have those too both..... Geoffrey accepts Perriman.. but Perriman doesn't accept Geoffrey..... but I think Perriman is the best choice of the two
anyway... the best party for you would look like this:

1) Sogg Mead Mugg
2) Raven
3) Z'An Al Urin
4) Perriman Smythe
5) Dog

P.S. If you're evil you can also get Torian Kel from the Ancient Temple who is a great melee fighter...

She has great dialog if you take her to Loghaire Thunder Stone too.

yeah i plan to be a persuasion master asap.

Would Loghaire be a good choice? does he add any dialog? does he have any tech besides his natural thing for being a dwarf? (if not thats a good thing.)

Warromon looks kinda cool.

so far i think i like:
Virgil (for story, plus he can heal)
Raven
Zan Alurin
Geoffrey
Perriman
Loghaire?

that's 5 for max chr. then another 1 for being expert in persuasion

Dog is an extra follower so he would come along either way.

If i bring these people what kind of spells should I learn? so far the only spell i have learned is harm so that i dont just stand there during battle lol. or should i go down the White necro path so i can rez my followers?

This reminds me, I think that the followers section should include which followers are Very technically inclined and which are magical, and which are neutral. and their alignment would be helpful too.

I said it before.. you can't have both Geoffrey and Perriman.. you must choose one of them.... loghaire? mmm... you might want to save a place for Arronax when you get to the void....

Arronax is a free follower. He is pretty useless though.

I just met Torian Kell maybe he would be a nice alternate, i couldn't get him to join yet since i still have to wait until i can get trained in persuasion master, and i'm good aligned but maybe i can come back for him.

Sounds also like he and The bane of kree might talk to each other.. which sounds pretty interesting

so many options....
