Dog won't follow me

Just got to Ashbury and when I went after dog, the gnome attacked me as soon as I asked him what he was doing. I ended up killing him, but the dog won't follow me, even though I healed it, all I get is a 50% reaction, and Woof woof from it.
I'm a half elf male 93 Good 46 magic, lvl 26

BTW I only want the dog because of fallout memories

Have you had any fights in Ashbury prior to meeting the gnome? It seems unlikely, as you have to get to where the dog is fairly quickly after arriving, but the only reason I can think of, other than a bug, is that they turned hostile/neutral as a result of a fight with another 'innocent'.

thanks, I had the same thing in Tarant with the gnome (sammi white?) who can give you pick pocket training, I tried insulting him and it always seemed to end up in a fight. Could it be because I'm a half-elf?

I think the Pick Pocket master is a Halfling not a gnome, but whatever, it seems that somewhere along the line you've picked up a bug. I've never had this experience, and I've played every race available. Hopefully someone will post who can help you, I'd be interested in seeing if there's a solution myself.
