Can't get the game started

Does anyone has this problem too?
The game starts, the Sierra symbol goes up,
screen tells me that the game is being loaded and then I am simply being returned to the desktop.

I have
P 500
128 MB RAM
32 MB Graphiccard (V 770)

Any suggestions?

Hmmm have you tried starting the game in safe mode? Mine crashes unless I run it in safe mode. There's also a patch out that might help.

You might also want to make certain your video drivers have the latest updates. And if you have 2 CD-ROM drives, try resetting the INI file to load from the second, and see if that works. I was having trouble last month with BG2 running from my first CD-ROM drive. It did exactly what yours is doing in Arcanum. I switched to my second drive, and it ran perfectly. The drive itself was defective.

I hope they'd solve the world map problem though.
