'Bugged' Quests?

Hi:

I've hit upon a few oddities, and I'm wondering if they are bugs, and if so if people know either workarounds, or at least others to expect.

- In Stillwater, as I mentioned elsewhere, I got no option to talk to Hippington, but that seems to have had no impact.
- In the Wheel Clan, where the guy asks me to get back his Heirloom, near him there is a occupied bed, with a 'Dwarf Villager' identified, who never seems to wake up. I got through the wheel can, so he isn't mission-critical, but did I miss something?
- In Qintarra, right near the opening there is a girl who want to journey to Tarant. I wanted to take her - especially since I needed to go there anyway. However, I had no dialog option to take her along - just that 'I'm no guide' - I don't think it is because I've maxed followers, as I am supposed to be able to have 6, and only had Virgil, Magnus and Dog - and I've since been able to take Smythe. Any ideas?

Anything else?

Mike

-Stillwater-It's been a while since I've done the un-task for the Stillwater Giant. You can talk to him after getting the blue rabbit from the Stillwater Giant cave.

-Wheel Clan-For you to access all three quests from the dwarf quarters you need to clear all the spiders out of the mini-cave first. After entering the Wheel Clan turn right a take the stairs down into the mini-mine. Travel on finding two chests and talk to the work-boss. He will give you a quest. Some spiders are very tough! When you've completed the spider quest the dwarfs will be friendlyer and you'll find 3 dwarfs standing in their spaces (same general area as Moltenflow.

-Qintarra-The "I want to go to Tarant!" girl will join if your alignment is all "good." I've always gotten her to go but she doen't seem to recognize Tarant when I use teleport to take her. She keeps interrupting our run into Tarant proper and it is a problem to me. But about 3/4 across the bridge she finally accepts that we're in Tarant and pays the fee. But anymore I don't talk to her there are many quests that pay better points. Other than that I don't know why she refused to join with you unless you have something that sent your alginment negative: ie the sword in the Bangellian Deep.

The sleepy dwarf who never gets up can give you a minor quest with a new map location to explore and some decent loot (if you're a technologist) is at that location. He's also a spot traps expert but there's one other if you're training that skill and he wont wake up.

You can't do the 'gag' stillwater giant pelt quest of Hippington's if you've already gotten the location of Qintarra from Myrth (by showing him the fake from Parnell's).

QUOTE]I did that - it was the mines above the 'Dredge', right? I took care of the Crystal Spider (got a reputation for that) and got the other two quests from the quarters ... oh, well.

Hmmm ... could it have to do with group alignment? Dog is true neutral (i.e. '0') but everyone else (Virgil, Magnus and Smythe) are 'good', and I was near 100 alignment myself. If the reward were worth it I might consider dropping Dog for a while, but it doesn't spind like it ... I'm just such a 'completist' I hate to leave any quest undone knowingly

OK, so I was back in Qintarra, now I have Raven in my group, and unfortunately Dog has died and I didn't notice I was so busy with the other quests ... so I tried the Swyft quest again. I refuse to take her, then the next time I say I'm ready to go. OK.

When I get to Tarant, she talks to me and thanks me, says she'll give me the coin ... but doesn't, and doesn't disband ... no matter how much I walk around, leave and re-enter, or whatever ...

Any clues on this?

Mike

Go to Tarant girl

Just continue towards Tarant proper and she should give you the gold but don't worry about it. Its only 500 in gold.

I have since finished the game, but I had very high charisma and was a Master of persuasion. I'm convinced it was just bugged - we walked all over Tarant (waste of time!) shopping, visiting, etc ... in and out of all of these different areas. She probably thanked me and said goodbye ~40 - 50 times! Eventually I told her to wait and left!

At 20 charisma no npc will leave when their personal quest is over or they 'hate' you, they'll stick with you till you tell them to nick off.
