I'm not sure what's going on. I've started with Ter'el, moving on to Makaal, then Alberic, and finally Geshtiana, but I've tried to make an offering to Halcyon and I can't seem to open up the altar to place the olive branch inside. I'm not sure if it's my character or if it's a problem with the game, but if there's anything out there that can make this right, then please let me know. Any help and/or advice concerning this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Here is my character:

Lvl. 50
Race: Dwarf
Background: Beat with an ugly stick

Attributes:

Strength: 20 Intelligence: 19
Constitution: 9 Willpower: 8
Dexterity: 16 Perception: 8
Beauty: 2 Charisma: 12 (with the gypsy bonus)

Skills:

Melee: 2 pts
Dodge: 2 pts
Pickpocket: 2 pts
Persuasion: 2 pts
Pick Locks: 4 pts

Technological Doctorates:

Smithy
Mechanical
Herbology

Again, any help and/or advice concerning this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It has nothing to do with your stats. The altar was damaged long ago, and you have to go on a quest to repair it before you can make the offering.

Talk to the guy near the altar, and make sure that your dwarf (or one of his followers) has the strength and room in their inventory to carry something very big and heavy.

Let me know if you want further hints.

I appologise for not mentioning that earlier, but I've repaired the altar. Still wouldn't let me do it.

Oh. Well, then I have nothing else to help you; it still sounds to me like a glitch rather than a character build. I know other players have had characters with 100% TA make it all the way through the quest.

If you do, though... (Spoiler)

Make sure you have one of your followers holding a Reanimator, or some other nonmagical form of resurrection; the auto-resurrect at the end of the quest has been known to fail on characters with high TA.

(End spoiler)

I thought so too, but I started a new game since I started this post, playing the same type of character and increasing his stats, skills, and disaplines step-by-step, and I'm still having the same problem. Guess it has to do with the 3 patches that I have (one of which is in the .rar file called Arcanum-1.0.7.4-nocd-lv126, the other 2 are UAP081229.exe and HighRes1.1a.exe).

I've played this game a lot lately and so I'm getting out of the mood anyway. Oh well, It was fun while it lasted. I'll just have to rely on my husband to get me the patches next time. Untill then, I'll uninstall the game.
Thank you for your help

P.S. The reason why I got the no-cd patch in the first place is because there's a problem with my computer not recognizing both my cd drive and my main hard drive at the same time so I have the main hard drive plugged in.

I had that exact problem myself. What I had done was install the unofficial patch without installing the official one first. So, saved game, exited, installed official, then unoffical patch, restarted, loaded, and hey presto, I could make offerings to Halcyon

what i think your problem is, is that you think that brigitte's blessing is the same as that of geshtianna. it's not. you need to offer some passion root at geshtianna's altar wether you have brigitte's blessing or not. then halcyon's altar will work as it should. the two blessings also stack, and you will keep brigitte's blessing even after you've completed the circle.
