Alignment shift

i have another problem now
ever since i killed Bates my alignment meter has been going crazy giving me 1 AS(negative alignment) for slaying whatever... wolves, golems, ugh... u name it... :/

btw... i've been wearing the dark helmet for quite some time ... i doubt this is the problem

And i also did some world map testing it seems i don't get AS for everything i kill... so far I recall rats and kite people lowering my alignment -> which is kinda bad because i need to do the BMM quest. I mean they trigger the whole stuff... from then on if i kill orcs or molochean hand guys it's all the same(-1)... which wasn't before i met the rats...

Then again... i boosted my alignment for like +30 which made me go +5 (i had -25 before), removed my helmet(just in case) and now i can exterminate the vermin w/o any problems :/
Truth is i want to have some negative alignment, but i guess I'll cope with that

Just a wild guess - was the helmet you were equipped with by any chance the Dark Helm? Still, that doesn't explain why would you get -1 AS for every kill. If it's a bug, it sure is a weird one...

Oh my gawd
I went to the caladon sewers with my fairly earned -24 alignment. From there on when i completed the sewer run as you might have guessed -100 was my number. So... I clixor my karma away(the bud got like 5k+ gold from me), but it won't go + anymore. I did a couple of good aligned quests and then I realized it wouldn't go up.

Agh... it's something i did before the sewers or the game itself has gone crazy! I'm beginning to be slightly frustrated by this fact(background: *ripping heartshaped pillows*)

Gh... i tried some savegames before that it was all the same... My only guess was that when I overdid -100, it went like -101 but didn't show because it is not supposed to go over +/-100 in any way. And so... it would wrong the other end as well. But I started the game anew, just to see if a new character would not gain alignment, and... he does get +. I dunno I'm confused, but mostly frustrated...

As my regular update follows I've decided to play arcanum with 0 alignment. :S
