Xbox?

I see you guys talking about Game Cube here, but I have no idea what that is, maybe sg like PlayStation? I have Xbox, is there a version of Dark Alliance for that?

What's similar to BG in this game, btw? The place, charachters, story line, or is it completely different?

yes there is a baldurs gate dark alliance for the XBOX. It has virtually nothing to do with the other BG titles other than being set in Baldur's Gate. Gameplay is more like Gauntlet of old with interspersed cutscenes to further the "plot." also, you only get three different character slasses. check out the info page on gamebanshee--it has some good info. it was mildly entertaining but there is little thought behind it, IMHO.

I have it on Xbox, and I think you would be able to get a version of it for under 20 bucks.

It reminds me a lot more of diablo than of BG on PC. But if you play it with a friend in multiplayer mode it is a lot of fun.

It is to Baldur's Gate (PC) as the Mario Bros movie is to the Mario Bros game.

Basically saying that there really is no reason they should have the same name, other than to get more people interested in them..BUT if you take away the name, it is still a rather decent game (or movie) by itself.

Baldur's Gate (PC) is all about strategy, and roleplay..Baldur's Gate (Console) is a arcadish dungeon hack-fest, but for being an arcadish dungeon hack-fest..it is the hack-festiest
