| | Weapon of Choice Howdy!
What kind of weapon do you prefer with your chars?
My barbarian feels fine with two great axes, with fire/magic and acid/magic gems nicely forged. (1st Axe + x of Hellfire and 2nd of.... erm... well, itīs with little green lightnings, "Irrlicht" in german ). Indeed nice coloured combo imho
By the way, equipping the Sorcerer with a Mace (enchanted with coldness gems for the frost "glitter"), casting the speed spell and attacking with these enchantments reminds me well of Harry Potter *hocus pocus simsalabim* |

| | Greatswords are the most damaging weapons in the game, plus they have good reach. My choice for the barbarian, who can hold two of them at once. For all the others I prefer morning stars. They're the most damaging one-handed weapon (for two-weapon fighting), plus their stun-on-critical is really great.
Gem upgrades I like are: - Jacinth: 1d6 fire damage (kills trolls).
- Aquamarine: 1d4 cold damage (slows targets).
- Moonstone: Combat Reflexes (increases damage output by a few %, don't know how much but it adds up).
- Pearl: Improved Critical (+3% damage on average).
Damage stuff goes in the right hand, skill upgrades in the left. |

| | I myself have not played the game with Dorn, so I didn't even know he could use great weapons in two different hands. I might have to play him next. Any way, I also prefer the Morning Stars. With the Two handed Feat Maxed out you can do more damage with 2 Morning stars then you can with just one Great Axe. Plus you swing faster.
But for ranged weapons, I like to save the archer from the first game, (down in the dungeons in the pale keep) and get his bow. It already come equiped with gems and is pretty powerful for a bow. |

| | | I prefer stealth based weapons, quick slashing weapons, so usually short sword or long sword, or even daggers, I also like quarterstaffs.
I also like bow weapons, don't like slings or crossbows or throwing weapons.
I prefer to enchant them with cold, and some troll killing ability like fire or acid, at the beginning when I am not killing large quantities of undead, I prefer enchanting blood draining, but as you up in ability, prefer to have some undead killer(although to be honest it doesn't destroy the undead that often, even with a +5 weapon), but fire or acid and cold are usually my preferences.
Ranged I would prefer, and for close combat hit and run, hit and run, until enemy is dead.

| | | Xyx, you might consider using the moonstones and the pearls in your gloves. They add to your improved critical and combat reflexes in your gloves just as well.
Damage gems don't work in your gloves (unless you're the monk).
Currently I am playing a necromancer on extreme difficulty.
I don't really use my sword, but if I am going to enchant it someday, I'll most likely add jet's and perhaps diamonds in case I decide to actually hit undead.
On weapons, for barb, I like a "frostfire" combo very much. Jacinths combined with aquamarines. I don't think it really adds to the damage (which is considerable), but it has a very nice glowing affect when you're near creatures (blue fire).
Also a weapon with max corals and topaz's or amethysts for max damage.
For Dorn I'd go with greatswords. |

| | | For the optical effect i truely prefer hyacinth with jade stones, "hellfire". Great purple fire *harr*
Is that for sure that non-damage gems in gloves work for everyone? i wasnīt so certain about that |

| | | I am not sure about the life/mana stealing gloves (I believe they only work for necro and monk), but I tried firing a crossbow with or without gloves (gloves with increased combat reflexes, moonstones I think) and he was definitely firing faster with his gloves on.
I figured the same with improved critical, since it isn't really enhancing your weapon or damage, but simply a skill which you already have.
I think it says so if the effect is unarmed only. |

| | | Just for Dorn I used one flawless greatsword of cold fire and Krommlech's axe from the dungeons.
I really wish you could pick up Mordoc's vampiric attack sword. |

| | | You actually can't take anything from the first game. You get all new characters and weapons. So, really you don't even have to play the first one to play this one. The only way playing the first one will help is you will be used to how the controls work, and you will recognize a few characters you talk to. Thats it.
So if your maxing out your character from the first one, thinking you can bring him/her to the second, stop. |

| | Actually, this would be kinda boring, playing a new game with a char that has reached his/her limits far earlier... |

| | | favorite My favorite weapons are two +5 Flawless Vampiric Great Sword.
(16 rubies and 16 emeralds) They are nice with my strength at 66. And 25% damage dealt is added straight to my life and mana when i do like 900 + damage with critical hits makes me almost invicible. |

| | | I think the best you can do damage wise is having a flawless great sword, put 16 coral and add lightning/fire/cold damage to it. Then alternate between depending where you are. I think my swords in extreme mode do 117 attack min-max because of the corals. then the other attack under character statcks are something like 355-355[114-114] could be more could be less. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Rate This Thread | Linear Mode | |
